Position: Digital Engagement Officer
Duration: 2-month short-term contract (1 August – 30 September 2026)
Compensation: £1,800 (one-off)
Location: Remote (UK-based)
About the Role
We are seeking a well-connected, community-focused Digital Engagement Officer for a two-month project. In this role, you will help ensure that HKB’s materials, resources, and announcements reach the UK Hongkonger community effectively and appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
- Community distribution: Share and promote designated organisational materials within active chat groups (e.g. WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal), ensuring they reach Hongkonger networks across all regions of the UK rather than a single area.
- Social media engagement: Share and create culturally relevant content, and engage with followers across major platforms (Threads, Instagram, Facebook).
- Progress tracking: Provide brief, regular updates on the groups reached and overall dissemination progress.
Requirements
- Network and experience: A demonstrated presence and strong reach across UK Hongkonger chat groups in multiple regions, with a proven track record of disseminating or creating content and engaging with participants on these networks.
- Platform proficiency: A solid understanding of both broad-reach social media (Threads, Instagram, Facebook) and closed-community messaging apps (Telegram, WhatsApp, Signal).
- Communication skills: A strong grasp of community etiquette, ensuring all materials are shared respectfully and in line with group guidelines.
