We are an independent, non-partisan community-led organisation for Hongkongers in the UK, and remain impartial in our mission and operations. This principle is essential to preserving our integrity and ensuring that we can serve the entire Hongkonger community in the UK. Our management team comprises BN(O)s, non-BN(O)s, British citizens, refugees, and asylum-seekers from Hong Kong or closely connected to Hong Kong.
We value the diverse backgrounds and expertise within our team. Our backgrounds range from widely recognised activists, political scientists, lawyers, accountants, scientists, businesspeople, designers, artists, urban planners, engineers, bankers, HR etc., and have all lived through hardships of establishing ourselves in a new country.
We celebrate the diversity of our team, including those who choose to take part in the UK’s democratic life. As an organisation rooted in civil society, we see active civic engagement as a sign of a healthy, open community. HKB is committed to serving the public good without political bias.
We are community volunteers and activists addressing the issue of Hongkongers considering moving to or newly settling into the UK. We are working as a team to design activities, campaigns, services, projects to offer support, make their new life meaningful and fulfilling so they can contribute towards UK society.
