BN(O) Children with SEND: Addressing Educational and Caregiving Needs

Hongkongers in Britain (HKB) published a study in 2023 on the educational needs amongst the BN(O) visa holder children during their resettlement. The results show that there are service gaps to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This study follows up on this topic by conducting a survey with the parents of BN(O) children with SEND. The survey focuses on four aspects: a) The needs and challenges of BN(O) children with SEND and their parents in navigating the education system; b) The experience of BN(O) SEND children and their parents in accessing and using the school’s SEND support services; c) The parenting experience of the parents of BN(O) children with SEND; and d) The caregiving burden of the parents of BN(O) children with SEND.

本報告及其調查結果旨在就制定更具包容性的政策或服務向英國和地方政府、教育機構、和其他非政府組織提供建議。

關於 移英港人政策研究計劃 (Initiative SAFE)

自2020 年 10 月起，HKB 啟動了 移英港人政策研究計劃 (Initiative SAFE)：一項旨在開展一系列四項研究的計劃， 旨在促進英國公共政策和服務的改革，促使港人更容易融入英國。

SAFE 代表要研究的四個主題：一、社區安全、二、對弱勢群體的援助、三、全面融合 和 四、教育需求。
