大學及學徒制本地生學費資格
根據《2011年教育（學生支援）條例》（經修訂）[參考資料 #1 及 #2]，英國大學及學徒制的「本地生學費」資格主要受「三年居住規則」規管。
一般而言，若要符合本地生學費資格並獲得相關的學生資助（例如學生貸款），個人必須在課程的第一個學術年度開始前的三年內，連續通常居住在英國、海峽群島或馬恩島。這項規定適用於英國國民、愛爾蘭公民以及已獲得英國定居身份的人士。
因此，尚未獲得定居身份的英國國民（海外）[BN(O)] 簽證持有人通常不符合本地生學費資格。同樣地，即使已獲得定居身份，但未能符合連續三年居住要求的人士，亦不符合本地生學費資格。 BN(O) visa holders who have not yet obtained settled status are typically not eligible for home fee status. Similarly, individuals with settled status who have not fulfilled the three-year consecutive residency requirement also do not qualify for home fees.
值得注意的是，在蘇格蘭，蘇格蘭政府已確認 [參考資料 #3]，BN(O) 簽證持有人只要符合三年居住準則，將符合本地生學費資格。
